The Shift from Blue Links to Generative Answers
Vendor selection no longer has to begin with a list of blue links. A founder expanding into Poland, a procurement lead comparing CEE suppliers, or a marketing executive evaluating agencies can ask Perplexity, ChatGPT, Claude, or search-enabled ChatGPT for a shortlist, an explanation, and supporting sources in one conversation.
Instead of scrolling through Google results and opening every vendor website, buyers can ask follow-up questions about regional experience, service scope, pricing, and fit. Traditional search still matters, but your business also needs information that can be understood in a generated answer—not just an attractive page that a human might eventually click.
SearchGPT was OpenAI's search prototype; its search experience was brought into ChatGPT. We retain the familiar SearchGPT term in this guide while referring to the current search-enabled ChatGPT experience, not a separate engine. See OpenAI's ChatGPT search announcement for the product context.
What is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)?
Traditional search engine optimization focuses on making pages discoverable and competitive for relevant keywords in search results. Generative Engine Optimization focuses on making digital entities—the company, its people, its services, and its expertise—clear enough for AI search systems to describe, cite, and potentially recommend in response to buyer questions.
The distinction is the outcome being measured. SEO commonly tracks rankings, impressions, clicks, and organic conversions. GEO adds brand mentions, explicit recommendations, source citations, and share of voice across a documented panel of commercial questions.
These disciplines share the same foundations: useful content, crawlable HTML, accurate facts, clear internal links, and credible sources. GEO does not replace SEO or guarantee a recommendation. It gives B2B teams a framework for improving how their organization is represented when the search result is an answer rather than a list of pages.
The 3 Pillars of CEE AI Search Dominance
Technical Schema & Entity Association
Publish matching visible company information and JSON-LD Organization and Service markup. Identify the business name, canonical website, Warsaw location, founder, markets served, and service definitions. Connect entities with stable identifiers so the same organization is described consistently across the site. Structured data supports interpretation; it is not a substitute for evidence or a promise of AI inclusion.
Statistical Citation & Data Density
Replace vague claims with clear metrics, transparent pricing tiers, defined service scope, and structured offerings. Explain how a rate is calculated, which sample it covers, and when it was measured. A useful CEE market guide should answer the buyer's actual question with attributable facts, not invented statistics. For Best4GEO, the 2,000 zł Account & GEO Audit and 8,500 zł monthly Pipeline Retainer are stated alongside their scope.
Third-Party Verification
Keep legitimate Clutch, Crunchbase, Google Business, and GitHub information aligned wherever the business has a relevant, genuine presence. Cross-reference consistent company names, locations, services, and website URLs. Only link profiles the organization actually owns or sources that genuinely support a claim; do not create fictional listings or imply that every platform is relevant to every business.
Getting Started with GEO in Poland & CEE
Start by asking whether an unfamiliar buyer—or a crawler without JavaScript—can identify your company, its market, its services, and the evidence behind its claims. Then establish a baseline before changing content or schema.
- Audit the HTML response. Check that your most important pages contain readable headings, descriptive copy, service details, navigation, a canonical URL, and relevant structured data before JavaScript runs.
- Define the buyer questions. Build a non-branded prompt panel covering category discovery, vendor comparison, regional requirements, and commercial intent. Separate Poland and other CEE markets, and distinguish English from local-language questions.
- Capture your AI search share of voice. Record mentions, recommendations, and citations for your brand and a fixed competitor set. Keep the prompt text, engine, search settings, timestamps, completed sample counts, and cited URLs.
- Improve the evidence and repeat the test. Resolve crawlability and entity inconsistencies, publish useful guides, and improve legitimate supporting profiles. Remeasure the same panel monthly rather than selecting isolated favorable answers.
